Bottle, at Sørlandet Matfestival. It’s an unclear dark brown to black beer with a dense finger-thick beige head. Roasted, lightly burnt aroma with some prune and alcohol. Faint notes of coffee and dark chocolate too. It’s warming on the palate, full-bodied and nicely carbonated. Roasted malts, some burnt malts as well as prunes, coffee, dark chocolate and licorice in the flavor. And not to forget, alcohol. Sort of herbal towards the finish. A powerful beer that feels a bit messy and homebrew-like, but decent anyway. Not your average Black IPA though. 220708

Superficial festival rating at Sørlandets Ølfestival 2022. Dark brown body under decent tan head. Aroma of dark malt, dark fruit, hint of chocolate and some pine. Taste is smooth and mild roasted dark malt, dark fruit, bred, pine and nice bitterness. Balanced body with a pleasant aftertaste. Nice and tasty, rather classic black IPA.
