Bottle. Beautiful, deep (blood) red body under a fast-diminishing pink head with lacing. Aroma is strong on cherry, both sweet and sour berries, some almond and hint of wood with a light funky touch. Taste has a soft and smooth malt base but dominated by cherry, it’s a fine balance between sweet cherry pulp and acidic red berries, subdued wood, almond and a funky touch similar to aroma. Rich bodied and long lasting aftertaste dominated by cherry. A very nice Kriek that’s less acidic that the classic Belgium versions but with the same spontaneous yeast qualities and a very pronounced cherry flavor. Very nice as an aperitif, but could also work with cheese and chicken salad.
