330ml can [#1330/1500]. Jet black colour with late awakening, average, frothy to creamy, osteoporosing, minimally lacing, dark brown head. BA supported, roasty, chocolately, dark and acramel malty aroma, notes of coffee, dark caramel, hints of dark chocolate, chocolate sauce, roasted coffee beans, some treacle, a touch of vanilla, Bourbon, whiskey malt. Taste is BA supported, roasty, dark malty and sweet-ish caramel malty, minimally warming alcoholic, notes of treacle, caramel, some coffee, Bourbon, vanilla, even a marshmallow touch. Viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine, soft carbonation. Intense, but a tad disharmonious, heterogeneous, not really integrated coffee flavours, a bit boozy as well - pretty good, not top-shelf.

Bottle. A black to dark brown beer with a dense, dark beige head. Some lacing. The aroma has a delicious mocha coffee, along with roasted malts, dark chocolate, a pleasant boozyness and some oak and vanilla. It's super-pleasant on the palate, full-bodied, smooth and soft, with a nice warmth. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, booze and a bunch of really nice coffee in the flavor, with a light acidity, a good sweetness and some barrel notes. Lasting finish. Sure a pleasant brew, well worth a revisit or two. 231014
