Converting ticks to ratings. Dusting this one off: Heineken's attempt to get in the slipstream of the success of Palm in the Netherlands back in the 90's. OK Irish / Belgian amber, but it disappeared for a reason, like so many other ambers from that time (Vos, Moreeke, etc.)

amber kleurig naar rood neigende, witte kraag, redelijk vaak gedronken, had toendertijd een ander etiket dan op de foto, caramel, smaakvol, was redelijk te drinken. --- Beer merged from original tick of Kylian on 25 May 2018 at 13:34 - Score: 6

(Hmmm - quite aged sample again) Very clear foxy beer; cream-coloured 2cm head, dwindling fast. Bit moldy, malt-sweet nose, bit of oxidation/port. The biscuit-port flavour superimposed on what it was: dull-sweet, with a whiff of parsley flavour. Little or no change in mouthfeel: as thinnish as remembered, watery texture. Old age has given it a touch of oiliness. Even ageing isn’t able to save this one - a boring ale from a boring brewery.

Backlog end of nineties. Clear light amber, nice beige head, vanished after a while; sweet malty aroma, bread, herbs, bit roasted; medium body, moderate creamy mouthfeel; sweetbitter finish.
