Although this style of beer is normally associated with the East Coast of the United States, hop production there declined during prohibition so ours is made predominantly with the finest West Coast hops. It’s light and hoppy with a citrus hit and very satisfying.

[Cask at the Jolly Anglers, Reading.] A hazy pale amber pour with a thin white head; sour malt aroma; sour grainy taste with some weak lemony citrus; and a sour finish. Poor.

Bottle from Wine Rack, Burpham. Aroma reveals the twiggy brewer malty fingerprints alongside marmalade and spice. Opaque gold. Foamy translucent white head. Medium bitter. Tart citrus with a floral edge. Followed by malty buttery sweetness. A touch of cardboard. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Average prickly carbonation. Dry finish. Pretty boring old school UK attempt.

Cask at Lych Gate, Wolverhampton Pours a golden yellow with a small white head and good lacing. Has an aroma of straw and biscuits with hints of citrus. In the mouth the dominant flavour is oranges, with also biscuit malts and some general citrus. The finish is dry but fruity. Reasonable.
