Cask-conditioned at the Phoenix York 12/9/2023. Dark brown in colour with reddish undertones and a tight, off-white, head. Lots of sweetish chocolate character upfront. The old ale then kicked in with some rich and slightly toasty malts, red berries, and oak before a malty finish with a touch of bitterness. Fine as a novelty, but this beer reminded me how good Old Peculier itself is, without any additives.

Cask @ Navigation Tavern, Mirfield. Amber-brown with a slightly off-white creamy head. Chocolate dominates aroma, with the fusion of the classic old ale and chocolate about equal - as such it's strong, dark malty and has a chocolate sweetness.

18/8/2023. Cask at The Dove Street Inn, Ipswich. Pours deep dark reddish brown with a small creamy beige head. Good pour. Aroma of chocolate, mild roasted malt, vanilla, cocoa, caramel, toasted and slightly fruity edge. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, quite smooth, soft carbonation. Enjoyable.
