Cask at The Head of Steam, Birmingham. Poured almost black in colour with a reddish hue and a lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is light roasty malt and coffee. The flavour is light sweet, with a smooth, watery, big yeasty, floral palate. Light bodied with flat carbonation. A massive disappointment. Coffee stout? The yeast totally dominated and the coffee was almost nonexistent.

Cask at the Wellington, Bingo-Cotts Convention, 08/07/23. Black with a good sized khaki head that thins to a swirl. Nose is chocolate, dark malts, dried fruit rinds, charr. Taste comprises chocolate, nutty tones, coffee bean, roast malts, brown sugar scattering. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Tidy cask stout.

Cask at the Wellington. An opaque black coloured pour with a lasting halo of dark tan head. Aroma is nice rich dark roast, ashy, cottage, charred, liquorice, earthy coffee. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, brown sugars, rich earthy roast coffee, palate us semi sweet, oily, good cask condition. Good.

Cask at Wellington, Brum. Aroma has coffee and porridge. Dark. Murky. Thin beige head. Medium bitter. Sweet sugary edge, before developing a sour berry streak. Medium bodied. Slick to oily. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish.

Cask at the strugglers inn, Lincoln. Jet black colour with a tan head. Light dry to bitter malty and coffee. Smooth body.
