(bottle) Slightly hazy, dark amber colour with a beige and short foamy head. Sweet and mildly toasted malty aroma with notes of caramel, molasses and dried fruits, such as prunes and raisins. Sweet and mildly bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a calm carbonation. Slightly toasted malt character with notes of caramel, bready accents and a whiff of molasses, shades of herbal hops can be detected far in the background, getting slightly stronger towards the the sweet and slightly bitter hoppy finish with notes of caramel and subtle dried fruity flavours in the aftertaste. Decent quality Bock. 09.III.17

0.5 l bottle from ’Biermuda’ as ’Willinger Bockbier: Unser Stärkstes im Stall’ at 6.2% abv (confusingly also labeled as ’Vollbier’), best before May 2017. Clear, deep ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, molasses, raisins and plums. Rather sweet, malty and slightly fruity taste of caramel, molasses, raisins and plums, followed by a short, slightly bitter finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Classic Bock, rather ordinary but I like it.

Bottle (as Willinger Bockbier: "Unser Stärkstes im Stall", P16, 6,2% vol): Copper coloured, hazy, small to medium-sized stable off-white head, moderate sweet-bitter malty-caramelly nose, fruity traces in the background, hops barely detectable; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium-bodied and pretty soft; increasing bitterness towards the - all in all - sweet-malty-bready finish. Pleasant, quite well balanced Bock with a pretty weak nose...
