The Pepperpot is one of Godalming's most iconic landmark, right in the middle of town new visitors often wonder why such a strangely shaped building exists. The current building was erected in 1814 and has server as the Town hall as well as the home for the weekly market - even today you can find a traditional greengrocer selling fresh fruit and veg there twice a week!
In honor of the traders bringing their wares to sell our Pepperpot porter includes coconut and vanilla in the recipe to create a porter that is rich but smooth.

Cask the Star, Godalming. Dark and glossy. Thin beige head clings to the rim. Aroma has coffee, liqourice and caramel. Flavourwise it's rather tangy. Berries and vinous tartness. Peripheral spice. Medium bodied. Slick to oily. Flat-soft carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Nice.

Black topped with a tan cap that soon thins to a swirl.
Nose is chocolate, dark malts, tangy fruit esters, modest roast.
Taste comprises fruit rinds, brown bread, dark malts, cocoa powder, toffee.
Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, light drying close.
Passable affair ... felt a little flat and lifeless.
