Clear Yellow, Good Head, Some Lacing. Standard lager, that does not really stand out from others. Slightly sweet, mild bitter. The only thing that was surprising, had some sour notes at the end. Nothing special, it was OK on a warm weekend afternoon. Just a side note, not sure why they switched from classic label to current hideous green label. While classic label had Guinness’s DNA, this new label reminds you more of Dundee than anything else. Rather dumb and mind boggling marketing error...

On tap. Pale yellow clear appearance with white foamy head, doughy aroma, fizzy carbonation, medium body, astringent finish with persisting alcohol taste in your buds.

Tap at the Clermont Arms, Blackrock Co.Louth about 4 miles from Dundalk where it is brewed so expecting it to be in fine fettle ;) ! Clear pale yellow with a medium white head and lively carbonation evident. Muted aroma of grain and malt. Tastes of pale malt, wheat and grain, again very bland. Lightish body, highish level of carbonation and pretty watery. Fizzy blandness personified!

Draught at Barry’s Irish Pub in Webster. First time in my life to try this classic. Medium golden color with a medium head. Malty nose, a bit grainy, with a touch of hop. Flavor is sweet golden malts and a bit of citrus. Low bitterness. Light and a bit thin, with not much happening, though not horrible.

Canned, 0.5l. Clear pale golden color with fluffy white head and soft carbonation. Aroma of grainy malt, grassy hops, citrus and some skunky note, too. Common malty lagerish taste is followed by crisp and dry mouthfeel. Light metallic note left in the mouth, but light hoppiness still prevails in the aftertaste. Medium body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Nothing more than common pale lager...

Can at the office, London (during a going-away party). Pours clear gold, highly effervescent with a rather sturdy head for a pale lager. Light dusty cereal nose. Very light sweet flavor with some cereal, mild doughy bread, very low bitterness, perhaps some hay. Light bodied with average, smooth carbonation. Light sweet finish, more cereal, faint white sugar, light dry hay. It’s a very mild pale lager and not overly sweet. Decent.
