At the end of the day, when Japanese factories and offices begin to empty, it is the Izakayas - Japanese pubs - that are full. And, in all of them, one request is certain: Nama Biru, which means 'live/raw beer', that is, unpasteurized and ultra fresh. Our Nama Biru is light, clear, dry and extremely refreshing, as if it had been taken directly from the tap. With a delicious combination of Sorachi Ace and Lemondrop hops, this version also has a touch of yuzu, a rare Japanese citrus fruit.

Surprisingly good lager. Has notes of subtle rice sweetness but mostly maintains a dry grassy lager front, with touches of cracker and a subtle yuzu tartness on the back end. Nice pint.

On tap at Bottleworks, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of yuzu zest, crackery malt, and straw. Flavour is very zesty, with plenty of yuzu, straw, and biscuity malt. Crisp and zesty. Pleasant enough.

The yuzu comes through quite well, quite a refreshing lager without being too sweet.

Woot YUZU. Pint can thanks to Drake. Pale gold with a hint of haze, white head. Nose is lemon, yuzu, grasses, but mostly citrusy. Yuzu, lemongrass, lime juice, grasses. A nice, flavorful lager.
