Can from my Beyond Beer Advent Calendar Beer Geek Edition box consumed at home Thursday 29th December 2022, watching 1899 on Netflix, we had Pasta Penne with Pesto tonight. Pours black with a tan head, very oily. Intensely sweet, completely artificial, ok you can pick up the barrel ageing and I guess some of the Christmasy elements, however this is a mess of a beer. I generally try to steer clear of Amundsen beers, I read the description and can see that they are usually a little bit OTT, and I know that I am going to find them to be too sweet, too sticky and very artificial and with heaps of barely concealed lactose and this was a prime example. However despite this and my reservations some have turned out to be very good. This beer was in my advent calendar so I had little choice. I left over half of this as I simply couldn't drink it.

Tap @Skaal, Cph. Black with a lasting tan ring. Rich malty aroma, cake and plums, toffee and dark berries. Sweet, boozy flavour, port, dark malt, some vanilla. Really a lot of sweet port, tastes like it's added and not barrel infused.

27/12/2021. Can with ITFCfan & ITFCDan at the post-Christmas blues share. From Hopsters, Ipswich. Pours black with a frothy tan coloured head. Aroma of Christmas cake, sherry, dark chocolate, blackcurrant, fondant icing, dried fruit, cherry, winter spice. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Full body, creamy/sticky texture, average carbonation. Sweet dessert fun.

Can at home. Has a dark brown to black colour with a small light brown head. Aroma of marshmallows, jelly beans, bourbon, brown sugar, chocolate chip cookie, vanilla and caramel. Flavour of bourbon, ash, vanilla cookies, licorice, dark chocolate and liqour. Has a silky mouth feel, full-bodied and a light bitterness. Tasteful and sweet. Really nice aroma.
