A Smile of Fortune is a dark fruit melomel containing Black Currants, Lutowka Cherries, Heritage Red Raspberries and Oregon Boysenberries. Intensely bold fruits balance their tart, tannic, and acidic flavors with the sweetness of high quality, responsibly sourced honey. Fortune truly smiled upon this mixed fruit melomel, and we are grateful for the result. Pairs beautifully with fresh young cheeses, pork, or chocolate.

Real dark reddish purple, nicely viscous. Bright jammy berry smell, currants, cherries, bit of alcohol. Body ain't thick, but smoooth. Taste is rich, decadent, intense fruityness. Sweet, with a subtle tartness. Lotsa cherry, raspberry, soft honey. Awesome

Subdued tartness compared to fresh, or maybe just a super delicious batch. Still jammy but the cherry jumps out and the fruit bomb is smoooooooth

Medium body, sweet, boozy, super fruity. Black currants, raspberry, cherry, some other red berries. Rich, a bit tart, unending aftertaste. Fantastic.

Bottle kindly shared by Beathe and Tommy. Dark reddish amber body with almost no head. Strong, almost intense aroma of red berries like cherry, black current, strawberries, mature berries, almond and honey almost in the background. Taste is really sweet with the berries dominating as in the aroma, spiced with almond and then the honey becoming more prominent after a few more sips. Full bodied with long lasting aftertaste. Wonderful and delicate mead with a fine balance between the berries and the honey. Too sweet to drink much of these, but wonderful for a few sips and it actually alco went very well in combination with dry, salt ham.

Still think this is a contender for my favorite schramms. So good, packs tons of sweet honey vibes, berry vibes galore. Can't wait to try batch 2 I picked up in April.

Gorgeous most of honey and forest fruit. Lovely boysenberry on too, with a clean, not very tart raspberry and cherry richness.
