Black with thick tan foam and a roasty aroma. Medium bodied and dry with a slightly acrid dark chocolate flavor in the finish. This is alright but lacks depth.
Very easy drinking. Not too malty, very refreshing.

Bottle from the brewery. Toasty, slightly roasted aroma, lightly nutty, soy umami, light fruit. Almost black, with a tall, tan head. Rather toasty and roasty, low sweetness, charcoal notes. Well done, but too dry and roasted for the style in my mind. Very little sweetness.
