Rye Stout presents the earthy flavor of rye in a stout package. Roasted malts are definitely present, but the dark chocolate aspect is favored over coffee notes. Lighter than several in the Bell’s stout portfolio, Rye Stout remains a full-bodied beer.

Good toasty smokey aroma with notes of rye and malt, with a slight lactic note. Flavor is toasty and malty, with more rye notes and a very light bitter findh with a touch of esspresso. Nice beer!

On tap at Bell's Eccentric Cafe, pours a deep dark mahogany / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma reveals a nice spiciness from the rye, with dark fruits, and a hint of moderate roast. Flavour is complex and spicy, with a really roasted malt character upfront, accentuated by the spicy rye, with a bit of dark red fruits, and some caramel. Complex and well-put-together. Really quite excellent for what it is.

Bottle from the CheeseMan, thanks!"," Deep dark brown color, opague. Rye bread and chocolate milk in the aroma and flavor. Sweetish, malty and bready. Hints of roast and ash. Well balanced, smooth stout.

Draft at Maduro. Pitch black, nice steady off-white head. Sweet and sugary. The rye gives it a slightly unique feel, not unlike a Caribbean Stout, minus the pungency. A little thick and sticky but still enjoyable. Overall a good quality beer, but not World Class.

bottle - Pours near black with a small, lingering tan head. The aroma is of chocolate malt and rye. The flavor is similar with an obvious rye presence and roast chocolate flavors too. It’s medium to full bodied and works very well.
