brown with an off-white/brown head. aroma is sweet, raisins, cognac, bourbon, nice BA notes, also some red wine/sherry. Taste is very sweet, raisins, for a BA beer the bitterness is a bit too high, some raisins, lots or granular flavors, lacks complexity, very sweet, not the best of Kees.

Bottle @ benzai shared by joes. Dark ruby colour with a lacing offwhite head. Smells cut green twigs, almond, sweet, nutty, sweet. Tastes very sweet and sugary. Some wood and nuts also. Not bad but not very layered or anything. Full body, nice carbo.

Bottle from de Caigny. Almost clear ruby color, short frothy head. Qroma of biscuity malt, slight raisin, oak wood. Dry from oak wood and grainy biscuit, some sweet raisin and molasses. Quite subtle for a 11% BA barley wine. Lacks a bit complexity and depth, but also lacks green apples, which is a good thing. Decent but not outstanding.

Bottle. Color: Dark amber, very thin beige head. Aroma: Pretty sweet, booze, hints of green apples. Taste: Light roasted malt, caramel, notes of sugar, figs and wood. Hints of nuts. Pretty boozy, notes of cognac and porto. Over medium sweet, very lightly bitter. Above medium to full body, below average carbonation. Bit vinuous. The barrel ageing is a bit overwhelming, but not in a bad way. Overall pretty sweet. A nice beer to enjoy slow sipping on a quiet afternoon.
