0.5 l bottle from the brewer. Pours amber color with an everlasting head. Bitter hops and resin in aroma with floral and fruity scents. Pleasant bitter taste, but not overwhelming, just fine. Light to medium body, lively carbonation, medium finish. Nothing extraordinary but still a well made IPA.

Can on the 'Balaton - NO Brush' charter train from Fonyod back to Budapest Deli, picked up from the on train bar, 10/06/23. Clear golden amber with a lasting off white head. Nose is orange peel, grass, pine needle, ripe melon. Taste comprises caramel malts, grapefruit, orange zest, bread dough. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close dashed with mellow hop bitterness. Passable old skool leaning IPA ... a touch overly sweet and flabby in places.

Bottle in a train EC Hungaria. Expiration date 13.12.2022. Significant brett contamination going on here. First, the beer gushes out of the bottle, slowly, yet inevitably. Medium body and quite high carbonation. Second, there is a strong bubblegum, characteristically bretty flavour present. Medium bitterness and medium caramelly bubblegumy sweetness. Hops character lost in the mess, lots of general estery fruitiness present though. This is a really poor representation of craft beer on trains. A man at a table next to me had the same beer and it gushed the same way, so it is obviously not a random bad bottle, but a system error somewhere. This should not happen, in a craft beer bar this beer would have been sent back to the brewery, but people on trains pay extra (5€ !!!!!!) to drink this and receive shit. The BBD makes me think that this probably had a 6 months expiration period and was stored somewhere warm for close to a half year, and is now served 2 weeks before it oficially expires even though it has gone to complete shit a long time ago. Really shameful.

Das 2. Lokomotiven-Craftbier, das der Speisewagen anbot (und auch schon etwas alt war, obwohl auch nicht abgelaufen). Dieses ist benannt nach der Diesellok M61, welche eigentlich eine schwedische Lokomotive amerikanischer Bauart war, die aufgrund ihrer Zuverlässigkeit in Ungarn recht beliebt war. NOHAB ist eine Bezeichnung für europäische Lizenzvarianten amerikanischer Lokomotiven. Diese Maschine wurde angeschafft, da in den 60er-Jahren die Ungarn (im Gegensatz zu heute) sehr westlich und europafreundlich waren, was natürlich dem sowjetischen Besatzer damals nicht gefiel. Darum wurde die Lok bald durch die Baureihe M62 aus der Luhansker Lokomotivfabrik (ja, dem ukrainischen Luhansk, das jetzt wieder besetzt ist) ersetzt wurde. Das Bier ist als amerikanisches IPA gebraut und dementsprechend gut gehopft. Allerdings versucht man eher viel Bitterkeit in das Bier zu drücken, als feine Aromen zu komponieren. Es ist rotbraun u sehr trüb und kann mich nicht zu sehr begeistern. Das Bier mit der Geschichte dazu als solches finde ich cool, aber geschmacklich ist noch viel Luft nach oben.

Nagy, nagyon tartós hab, barna szín, szűretlen. Illata nem túl markáns, fűszeres, komlós. Íze karamelles, markánsan fűszeres, citrusos, némi gyantával, pici édes beütéssel. Testes, közepesen szénsavas és kesernyés, kissé száraz. Finom élénk ízvilág, jó egyensúllyal.
