MerryXide – Gingerbread Stout

Bottle shared at Monyo. I only took numerical notes while having this one. -

0,33 bottle- Jelenleg nem karácsonyi verzióban. Kitöltéskor gyönyörű barna hab, és egészen extra kólás-mézeskalácsos, gyömbér üdítős illat. Szép sör, és jó az illata, ez már egyszer biztos. Stout-ok közt elég szénsavas, de a gyömbéres vonalhoz szerintem ez illik. Könnyebben iható, mint testesebb kategória-társai. A mézeskalácsosság mellett nekem inkább kóla jut eszembe ivás közben is. Lecsengésben keserűséggé áll össze a gyömbéres íz, mivel komló nem sok van benne..mégis keserű. Furcsa, különleges, érdekes sör. Tetszett. Picit testetlen karácsonyi- és ízesített stoutnak, plusz a végére kicsit zavart a sok szénsav is. Viszont ahogy melegedett, egyre gyümölcsösebb lett.

Currently not in Christmas version. Beautiful brown foam when pouring, and a very extra cola-gingerbread, ginger soda aroma. Nice beer, and it smells good, that's for sure. It's quite carbonated among stouts, but I think it suits the ginger line. It's easier to drink than its fuller-bodied category peers. Besides the gingerbread flavor, it reminds me more of cola while drinking. In the finish, the ginger flavor turns into bitterness, since there aren't many hops in it...but it's bitter. Strange, special, interesting beer. I liked it. A bit impersonal for a Christmas and flavored stout, plus the high carbonation at the end bothered me a bit. However, as it warmed up, it became more and more fruity.
