This Ruby Ale is a royal jewel in our crown. A rich mix of Maris Otter, dark crystal and brown malted barley is blended with Sovereign, Bramling Cross and Fuggle Hops to produce a hedonistic bottle of pure indulgence.

Bottle from the Misty Bottle. It pours clear deep ruby with a small khaki head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, earthy roast, nutty, woody, jammy red berry, fig, plum pudding, date, leathery and Christmas cake. The taste is firmly dry, bitter - sweet, spicy, leathery, dried fruits, fig, date, nutty malt, lightly charred oak, toasted fruit cake, brown bread and some leafiness with a drying finish. Average body and soft carbonation. Fairly interesting character. Could maybe even be done with a touch more sweetness, but it's quite alright either way.

330ml bottle from brewery shop in John O'Groats - deepest ruby body with a long white top. Big malty caramel body, touch of smoky tobacco, some dryness from the hop. Well balanced and worth a try.
