Got a bottle when visiting Artezan recently.Sampled on March 20, 2016. Shared with 4 mates.50 cl bottle.Clear dark red to black color, tan head. Malty, grainy, some chocolate scent. Malty, grainy, hoppy, herbal, some chocolate taste. Grainy aftertaste. Medium a bit fizzy mouthfeel, low bitterness. Some faint liquorice.

Bottle courtesy of Gnoff. Pours blackish dark brown with a frothy beige head that that leaves some sparse trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and tiny spicy with roasted malts, burnt toast, watery coffee, cocoa powder, salty liquorice candy and minerals. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter and malty. Mouthfeel is soft, round and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and tiny bitter with bready malts, spicy hops and liquorice. Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks tomer. Dark brown to black. Aroma of roast, chocolate, some vegetables, caramel and nuts. Sweetish flavor with roast, caramel, chocolate, some vegetal character, and a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied.

Version revue à Artezan en bouteille. Je note un bouquet plus drêche avec un côté réglisse plus présent. En bouche, le côté réglisse ressort également mieux, le malté reste également centré sur la caramel et pâle avec un grillé persistant. 7-4-7-4-15 Sample draft @ Kufle i Kapsle, Warsaw. Got to try this on tap, but also from the bottle at Artezan, ratings, differ for the better for the bottled version. Couleur brune foncée, col fin blanc-cassé. Arôme est malté, grillé et chocolaté, pointe légère de lactose en rétro et finement fruitée. Palais de malt pâle, caramel, touche de grillé et chocolat léger. Amertume reste fine citronnée avec des notes un peu hors contexte pour ce style et qui portent plus vers un noble allemand Petit fini fruité noir me rappelant la prune. 7-3-7-3-14

Draught, smallish bubbly head, clear dark brown color, aroma of dark malt and bread with some vanila, flavor of dark malt, very dark carameland some fudge in the back, very smooth, light pleasant sweetness. Very good and highly enjoyable.

Butelka 0.5l (31.05.2015). Piwo o ciemno brunatnej barwie z rubinowymi refleksami. Piana bezowo-brazowa, trwala, ladnie oblepiajaca szklo. W aromacie czekolada z delikatnymi nutami kawowymi. Sredniointensywna ale przyjemna kompozycja zapachow. W smaku zbieznie z aromatem, czyli czekolada z wyrazna palona goryczka, nieco piekaca w przelyku ale w przyjemny sposob. Posmak slodkawy, dlugi a slodycz przyjemnie oblepia podniebienie. Piwo lekkie w odczuciu, bardzo gladkie i delikatne, swietnie pijalne. Oby wiecej takich kooperacji. Juz zaczynajac od samego projektu i wykonania butelki, idac dalej przez aromat i smak a konczac na dlugim czekoladowym aftertaste to wyszlo jedno z lepszych ciemnych piw jakie ostatnio pilem.
