This collaboration with our friends at ABYSS Brewing takes inspiration from their Tropical Thunder IPA, a super juicy heavily hopped pina colada inspired beer. Our version uses a tweaked malt bill and recipe designed for extra juiciness. We dry–hopped this beer with Sabro, Citra, Azacca and Sorachi Ace, with a goal to produce intense mango, passionfruit, pine and coconut aromatics in addition to a touch of yuzu to garnish with a perfumed citrus backbone in the mix.

Keg draught at Purecraft Bar & Kitchen, Birmingham. Pinkish gold, hazy with a thin ring of white head. Pineapple-laden aroma, maybe some rhubarb notes but not a lot of coconut as a piña colada sour would suggest. Very sour taste, lots of canned pineapple here with intense lactic chatactwr. Dry, tart finish. Maybe not quite as god tier as their best beers but this is lovely.
