Tohubohu is a new exploration into the interply between Belgian-style quadruple and imperial stout. This blend showcases a equal percentage of both stout and quadruple. The signature fruity spice of the quad and the rich chocolate caramel character of the stout both shine in Tohubohu. The addition of Ugandan cacao nibs sourced from the Semuliki forest via White Label Chocolate, brings the two styles together, excentuating the chocolate and red berry notes.

Sample, thanks fonefan! Viscous black, no head. Aroma of home made chocolate sauce and bourbon. Sweet with fierce alcohol and full body, mildly viscous mouthfeel. Completely dominated by chocolate and bourbon. No trace of Belgo yeast. Warming finish. Pastry stout, but with some level of elegance.

thanks fonefan! Pitch black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is liquorice, toffee, some mild dried fruits, alcohol and a bit wooden tones. Flavour is toffee, some dried fruits and caramel and some alcohol tones. Plummy tones too. Pleasant, though quite strong. Alcohol burns on the gum.

Bottle. Shared with Andrew. Pours inky black, minimal head or lacing. Aroma is strong, molasses, hints of anise, dates, vanilla, cocoa, bourbon, tobacco. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter. Full body. Too much anise for me, but still good of course.
