The term ‘Kakawa’ is the Mayan origination from where cocoa bean derives. This beautifully balanced stout combines decadent chocolate with rich, roasted malt body. [44cl can from my local Lidl.] A glossy black pour with a billowing beige head; bitter chocolate aroma; lactic body with a rich chocolate cake taste; then a dry finish with a trace of coffee. Pleasant but unexciting.

440ml can from Lidl, Portishead. Near black in colour with a frothy, beige, head. Aroma of sweet milk chocolate and toasty malts. Light mouthfeel, with more chocolate upfront and some rich, lactose notes before a toasted malt finish. Good.
