The term ‘Kakawa’ is the Mayan origination from where cocoa bean derives. This beautifully balanced stout combines decadent chocolate with rich, roasted malt body. The addition of lactose gives a silky, almost creamy texture which perfectly complements the undertones of coffee and vanilla. Brewed exclusively for Lidl UK

Can from Lidl. Pours black with good looking beige to tanned top. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, char, lactose aroma - good. Taste follows with bolder flavour than expected- I like the fact that you get a good balance between the dark malt/chocolate and the sweeter lactose. There is a slight dusty-lactose aftertaste which could be better. Nonetheless its a good milk stout for the price.

Good pour that results in a poor chocolate stout. It doesn't really work and I have to say it tastes cheap. I have had much better.

Black beer, thick foamy head. Light coffee and malt aroma. Flavour has coffee, some bitter chocolate, decent body to this. A great malty base. Super sessionable stout.

Can. Nose is light chocolate and coffee. Taste is milk chocolate, lactose, Easter eggs and, ash and a hint of treacle in the finish. Good for the price point I guess.

440ml can from Tiverton Lidl: BB 16th October 2024. Poured into a Westmalle chalice at home on 15th February 2024. Very dark brown body, tanned crown that thins pretty quickly. Coffee, vanilla and chocolate esters and flavours ooze out of this, smells and tastes much stronger than 4.5% ABV; the body would be richer and silkier maybe, but it's still a lovely Sweet Stout.

440ml can from Lidl. Pours black with a large tan head. Not great, quite thin, mild flavour profile, chocolate malts, soft roast, brief creamy vanilla shades. So so.
