Meh.

Clear golden color with a medium thin white head that burns away steadily to an outer ring. Spotty lacing. Aroma of fruit, grassy hops and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of citrus, mild hops and bready malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short grassy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

12 oz can poured. Still holding on to the summer beer dream right now, though I see more and more fall beers popping up. This is a pretty damn good summer beer, and at 4%, makes a good session. Pours golden with a cloud foam head. Interesting hop bill here, that until now, I have been unfamiliar with. Very easy drinking and refreshing. Awesome summer beer.

The Sampler, Brooklyn can: Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is butterscotch, fruity. Taste is light and hoppy at the top, but then the finish is all sorachi ace influenced butterscotch type flavors. Very nice and refreshing. I am not a huge fan of this varietal but this was good.

12 oz. bottle Chalice Best by 07/26/15 A: A hard pour yields a pale yellow beer with a half inch head of white fading to a pillow in the center of the glass. Crystal clear. Busy carbonation S:Crackers and grass. Very light smell. T: Light tasting sharp cracker malt flavor with a juicy hop backup. Light in flavor also but great balance and light, crisp, tasty and refreshing. M: Snappy crisp bite and sparkly light body mean this is made for drinking in quantity. Very clean and finishes tart and dry. O: A nice low ABV surprise. I can see myself tearing through quite a few of these in the coming months. Nicely priced at $9/6 means a must try. Oh and extra respect for USDA Organic Certification.

12oz can. Filtered pale yellow-tan body. Steady, foamy white head. Medium to light bodied, not a whole lot going on. The Sorachi Ace don’t come on that strong, not really offering the bitter balance that benefits the style. They do offer some mild, earthy mellow fruity tones, but could probably use another hop variety to complement it. Decent for a Blonde Ale, but pretty boring overall.

On draft at Chips in Kill Devil Hills. Pours a clear pale gold with an off white head. Saison like nose. Mildly floral hop flavor. Crisp clean finish.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 6/14/2013. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden straw color with a 2 finger dense bright white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon zest, orange zest, pear, apple, cracker, bready grain, floral, grass, light honey, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt and hop notes; with decent strength. Taste of lemon zest, orange zest, pear, apple, cracker, bready grain, light honey, floral, grass, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Slight earthy herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, light fruits, cracker, bready grain, light honey, floral, grass, herbal, and earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice balance and moderate robustness of hop, malt, and fruity ester flavors; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a smooth, crisp, and moderately dry mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish as expected of 4%. Overall this is a nice blonde ale style. Good balance of hop and malt flavors with moderate robustness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
