Step back in time with our amber lager that marries gentle malt sweetness with layers of smooth beechwood smoke.
Rauchbier offers a glimpse of brewing's past, when drying malt over open flames naturally infused beer with smoky character. Only a handful of breweries in Bamberg, Germany still keep this tradition alive.

(Can) Pours slightly hazy amber brown with good off-white head. Lovely aroma dominated by wood smoke with notes of toffee. Smooth medium body with fine carbonation. Good taste with the wood smoke at the fore throughout. There’s some citrus at the start, replaced with toffee sweetness that persists into the finish. There’s a flavour in the background throughout the palate that gets stronger in the finish which is a little harsh. I think it is carbolic; it reminds me of medicinal soap. Maybe it goes with the smoke. Very good.

Can. Clear deep amber with a fluffy near white head. Smokey aroma with caramel, some medicinal notes, a floral touch. Sweet and a little heavy with lovely smoke and toffee but in need of a drier finish to make the (adequate) bitterness snap a bit more.Still, good stuff.
