It's the style that defines English Beer. That to some is simply 'real ale'. It is of course Best Bitter. Given this history and the amazing examples that are available, creating one is not something we've undertaken lightly. Made with no fewer than 7 malts and 3 different English Hops, "Chummy Bluster" is a gentle, fruity, well rounded ale, with just the right amount of bitterness to keep you coming back for more. Unfined, unfiltered and suitable for vegans.

Cask at The Railway, Streatham, London - 21/11/2025 Toasted malty and bitter hoppy, some notes of cereal, grain, sticky dark toffee, slight smoked malty accents, herbal and grassy hoppy undertones, soft cask carb with a nice mouthfeel, bitter hoppy close. Nice one.

Cask at Waterloo Tap. - Clear golden-brown. Thin foamy white head. Aroma has low key malts and spir berries. Flavourwise it combines more prominent spur berries with chewy malts. Slightly twiggy. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Bang average twiggy bitter.

Cask at The Euston Tap, London. A hazy golden/orange/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Sweetish, hoppy, malty, caramel taste and aroma. More like an ESB. Decent enough effort from Gun.

330ml can. Slightly hazy brown, moderate sized foamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of toffee, chocolate, grass. Taste is very malty with the toffee notes coming through well, some light roast, chocolate, dried fruits and flora. As mentioned in previous reviews it tastes closer to a mild. Quite tasty regardless.
