Houblon Chouffe IPA
Highly sought-after by connoisseurs, Houblon CHOUFFE is a strong beer - 9% alc./vol., with a bitter and fruity taste. To recreate the bitterness of IPAs, we add three types of hops to our brews: Tomahawk, Saaz and Amarillo. Houblon CHOUFFE is the first Belgian IPA. Taste this magnificent beer and you can appreciate its subtle grapefruit note. This beer is also extremely popular as an ingredient in culinary dishes.

Formerly known as Houblon Chouffe.
The gnomes of Fairyland may be little, but they have big, very big, personalities. HOUBLON CHOUFFE matches their impish spirits. All gnomes, with their innate good taste, are in full agreement about HOUBLON CHOUFFE, which is flavoured by three different types of hops. This India Pale Ale is appreciated for its pronounced bitterness combined with the fruity tones of traditional Achouffe beers: it softens the strongest of characters.

At Bülach. Pours cloudy yellow. Aroma is citrus peel, dank, strong blooming flowers. Body is heavy and full, punchy sweet and bitter, banana, but it's not coming together. Good, but overpowered.

Bottle 0,33. Kíváncsian vártam a sört. Íze finom, a komlós- keserű sör kedvelőinek való.

I was looking forward to the beer. It had a nice strong big head, a yellowish lagoon, but a slightly cloudy color. Carbonated. Aroma: week, hops could be felt, no other specialty. The taste is delicious and suitable for lovers of hop-bitter beer. The presence of an alcoholic-wine flavor as an IPA spoiled me because it took away the aftertaste. I think corn and sugar were completely unnecessary. Obviously there would have been less alcohol then- and not "Belgian" enough, but then it could have been a really good IPA. Excuse: secondary fermentation takes place in glass, i.e. not all "leaks" are the same. They must have been better. Others wrote fruity, banana, other flavors. Unfortunately, nothing came of it for me. Correct beer, but I wouldn't think of that at an Imperium IPA.

Wirklich ausgezeichnet

Bottle, 0.33l. Hazy golden pour, two finger frothy slightly off-white head. Long lasting, very good retention. Thick lacing on the glass. Wheat, yeast and coriander on the nose, notes of citrus. Medium body, very soft carbonation. Thick and creamy texture, very smooth mouthfeel. Mild bittersweet taste with sour citrus touch. Aroma of malts, yeast, coriander. Wheat. Herbal spiciness. Dusty. Fruity citrus aroma. Slight alcohol presence, drying mouthfeel. Medium lasting finish, dry and bit boozy. Overall, quite tasty. Not sure if I'd categorize this as an Imperial IPA, feels more like a regular tripel with some hoppines to it. In any case, tasty and well balanced brew.
