Polyphenols are natural compounds found in plants that act as antioxidants and are excellent at protecting your body from damage caused by harmful molecules called free radicals. The good news is that cider apples are well known to be stuffed full of polyphenolic tannins!
The hand-picked fruit that went into this cider was picked on a calm, grey afternoon in late November just as the wheel of the year was about to spin us into the cold months; the final gift of autumn’s bounty - plump, round fruit stuffed full of antioxidants for a future winter. Who said that cider should be a drink exclusively of the summer?!
With a gentle pét nat fizz and a fresh, almost herbal flavour, this cider is excellent drunk on its own or served alongside a warming veggie stew or perhaps a deliciously rich goat’s cheese.
Medium, pet nat, unfiltered, unpasteurised, wild fermented, pure juice, natural cider. Ingredients: Apples (Yarlington Mill, Major, Ellis Bitter, Kingston Black)
Orchard/s: Jury, Duffryn

750ml bottle from Artistraw. Orange golden colour, white foam head that dissipates to a thin layer and aroma of apple, fruity, mucky funk, earthy. Taste is tart, tangy, apple, fruity, flowery, spruce, wood, barnyard funk, with drying tannins. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry woody tannic finish. Quite drinkable.
