Being from the coldest part of the UK, we love dark beers – especially those with oatmeal. Black Brose is the culmination of countless dark beer experiments, combining milk chocolate and fresh coffee notes with the rich oatmeal and a hint of cleansing bitterness. It’s roasty, nourishing and highly sessionable.

Keg at BD Tower Hill. Creamy chocolate aroma with a coffee edge. Dark and glossy. Creamy beige head recedes. Predominantly sour dark berries with a touch of restraining oats. Some not overly bitter coffee comes through into the finish. Light-medium bodied. On the thin side. Flat-average carbonation. Long dry finish. The beer menu describes this as 'rich'. It falls short of that but it a pretty refreshing drinkable porter.
