Beer #19 (of 19) [LAST ONE!] of my 9000th Beer Celebration [9 beers on both sides of #9000th itself]. Crystal clear deep copper and bronze coloured body with a slight pink and ruby glow, all with a fast-dying, barely single centimetre tall off-white head, but the clearness of this and lack of any lacing is actually remarkable, especially for the style - no movement here at all. Aroma of bright, tart, funky and cardboardie malts with a lot of cherries of course, along with a sweet, candy-like bite and even some cough syrup here in the nose. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong, very funky malts with some cardboard elements and a dash of earthiness come through, but the tart cherries do eventually come through with a light hit of oak and some wood foeders with a subtle sweetness that is still sadly reminiscent of cough syrup, but is fairly good. Aftertaste is dry, a bit herbal and showing a bunch of fresh cherries with some syrup and pungent qualities without much tartness, but enough real fruit flavour that melds to a caramelised sugar and toffee finish. Overall, a dry and malty, slightly artificial cherry note with a lot of sweetness derived from the fruit, but also some biscuity, grainy, earthy and very funky notes as well, that don't sort of fade away, but get a bit stronger towards the end. I sampled this 500 mL bottle, purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-September-2018 for US$8,99 sampled at my house here in Washington for Beer #19 (of 19) [the very final beer] of my 9000th beer celebration [9 beers on both sides of #9000th itself].
