Our award-winning interpretation of the original Czech-style pale lager. Spicy and zesty aromatics from Saaz hops combine with notes of honey and hay from continental Pilsner malt to create a fulfilling and quenching bright lager.

Can from Hegedorn's. Biscuity, bready malt, citrus hops, herbs and spices. Bright, glowing, pale gold. low head. Peppery, tingly, herbal hop flavor is quite nice. Malt character seems more German to me than Bohemian, though the hopping feels Czech. nice solid bitterness. Would like to drink these on tap at the brewery.

Perfectly clear golden coloured body with a large, dense, three to four centimetre tall soapy head that turns into larger bubbles and fades quickly. Aroma of grass, crisp malts, a light lager yeast component and a ton of fresh-cut grass notes with a lot of herbal and floral components, but no pervasive bitterness or pungency throughout. Light-bodied; Strong, very grassy and herbal notes dominate with a lot of lager yeast flavours, some very soft sugars, a hint of citrus fruits and a larger dose of astringency and dry characteristics than anything else, as there is no real sweetness or hop bitterness at all with this one. Aftertaste shows the dry, slightly soapy and very hay-y and grassy finishes with the faintest bit of complexity from the yeast, malt and light fruits that make this slightly interesting. Overall, a dry and malt/yeast forward beer that shows just about nothing else, aside from the easy-going flavours that are first picked up and hardly vary throughout this sample. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 07-August-2020 for US$1,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 24-August-2020.
