Sampled from a can this beer poured a black color with a large foamy brown head that left good lacing. The aroma was strong roasted nut and cocoa. The flavor was somewhat sweet with roasty malt and strong roasted nut. Long finish. Medium body.

Draft at Iowa Taproom. Deceptive porter color, thin head, as befits the last glass in a sampler flight. Smell is of peanut butter, of course. But not overly sugary. Taste is peanutty, too, but pleasantly so. Not like the old Canfield's Diet Peanut Butter Fudge soda (my 21 y-o niece just drew a blank expression when I mentioned that). Also brings up a bit of coffee and cocoa roast. Nice, but I wouldn't want this to be my only beer of the night.
