Before refrigeration, it was traditional for the Germans to brew these stronger specialty beers (starkbiers) in the colder winter months and then “lay them down”, often in cool, underground caves, until springtime when the beers would then be tapped for seasonal celebrations.
We recreated this cold conditioning, or “lagering” tradition by storing Maybach Royals cold for months, giving it the chance to meld flavors together, brighten up, mellow out, and round out any rough edges, resulting in an extremely clean, smooth, and well-rounded drinking experience.
This medium-bodied, full-flavored lager beer features premium malt richness balanced by spicy, woodsy, herbal, noble hop character. You can expect a smooth, malt-forward drinking experience balanced with a crisp, hop accented finish.
We get notes of lightly toasted bread, grainy malt sweetness, rich biscuit, light Maillard products, aromatic cedar, herbal sage, floral lavender, and a touch of balsam fir tree.

16 oz can from the Source, 5/21/21. Canned 5/12/21. My 1400th NJ beer tick!. Pours a clear orange with a thinner beige head and lighter lace. Bready, spice, and grains. Drinks on the malty side. Sweet, but not too sweet. This is a nice Maibock.
