Using notes from recipe author Paul Kaiser’s 1933 brewing notebook and Christian Heurich’s books, we’ve recreated the Maerzen that “had a very splendid vogue in the capital.” Developed with the Heurich House Museum and Lost Lagers, we’ve crafted a medium-bodied, malty amber lager with toasted bread notes and balanced “Bavarian and Bohemian” hops.

12oz can pours a clear, burnt orange with some lacey white head. Nose has caramel, malt, root veg, a little tinny. Flavors follow. It's smooth and an easy drinker.

Tin and lavender. A hint of leather. Pours orange amber without much head. Crisp finish. Tap at brewery in Shaw.
