The little brother to last year’s Halfpence, Quarterpence is a hoppy little Brown Mild, brewed with Maris Otter, Crystal Oats, a generous hand of Brown malt and UK grown Fuggle hops. Flavors of Irish Soda bread envelop the palate alongside Fuggle’s signature earthy and woody notes, with an oatmeal cookie undertone developing on the palate as the beer warms. Quarterpence was naturally conditioned both in cans and firkins, and is best enjoyed at 50 degree Fahrenheit cask temperature.

Nice little mild brown ale, notes of nuts, cocoa, caramel, and a touch of raisin. Modest roasted bitterness on the finish. Not bad.

Cask: pours clearish brown with a light beige head. Aroma is earthy and some toffee. Taste is smooth, nutty, lightly sweet. Nice.
