Toasty, caramel, crisp. Herbst is German for Autumn and who doesn’t LOVE HERBST?! This medium bodied amber lager was brewed mid-July with 100% German Malt. It is moderately hopped, cold fermented with lager yeast, and matured for 6 weeks for a wonderfully balanced flavor.

Proper Shaw. Short pour. Clear, bright, dark copper, icky lace. Crusty bread & mild clove nose. Mellow pretzel, salt, custard sweetness, very slight spice, not a lot of bite, not a ton of carb, good salt on the finish. Could have had a full pour. Good.

Caramel and rust. Pours amber with a few lingering soap bubbles. Light sweet finish, sugar water kind of mouthfeel. Tap at Shaw brewery.

Draught at source: pours copper with white head. Aroma is caramel, amber ale feel to it. Taste is sweet, low bitterness. Fine.
