Big In Texas II has everything you love about a hazy IPA packed into a lighter body with a crisper, refreshing finish.

One of the ways this was achieved was by fermenting this hoppy ale on the cooler side with a Kölsch yeast strain, imparting lager-like smoothness and complementary stone and pome fruit esters.

The name Big In Texas is a nod to the the brewing scene in Austin where this sub-style of IPA has been popular for its ability to quench thirst in the intense Texas heat while still delivering some serious hoppy aromas and flavors.

Big In Texas was brewed with a large amount of protein rich flaked oats, flaked wheat, and wheat malt for a soft mouthfeel and most hops were reserved for the massive whirlpool and dry hop additions — HS1228 & Cashmere.

We get notes of juicy peach, sticky pine, tropical mango, ripe pineapple, lemongrass, cantaloupe melon, and tangerine.

Draught at Urban: pours somewhat hazy with white head. Aroma is straw, some tropical friitiness, understated citeus. Taste is not too sweet, lightly bitter, minimal tang. Finish is a bit off.
