Barrels on barrels, as far as the eye—er, rye—can see. This bold imperial stout is an equal-parts blend of double barrel-aged Black Tuesday, aged for a year in bourbon barrels then finished in Rittenhouse rye barrels, and One & Dunn Reserve, aged first in a blend of Heaven Hill bourbon barrels and Willet and Peerless rye barrels then finished in Blantons and Four Roses bourbon barrels. Roasty, rich, and deeply complex, this is one to sip and savor.

Bottle from Utobeer, Borough Market. Rich nose of plum jam, prunes, bourbon, liquorice toffee, smoke. Uber warming flavours of prunes, bourbon, peat, plum jam, caramel, toffee,. Exceedingly boozy sweet warming finish. Utterly spot on.

bottle from kihoskh
pours very very dark, settles black with a small dark brown head that soon turns into a film head.
really intenes aroma where the first thing i notice is a sweet roasted malty alc. bite, roasted malts, just a lot of roasted malts, and a good dose of alcohol.
flavor is roasted malts, chocolate, wood, bourbon, intensity is high throughout but the end is with a peppery burn added to it. I must say, alc. is very well hidden - most noticeable in the aroma, not so much in the flavor.
Pretty solid traditional imperial barrel aged stout.
refreshing sipper considering all the pastry stuff all over the place.

Toppen!

Bottle split at CBJ tasting, thanks to Danny, 27/11/24. Black topped with a khaki head. Nose is chocolate, rye barrel, molasses, booze tunes, spice, toffee fudge. Taste comprises chocolate pot, brown sugar melt, dried fruit rinds, spice balance, molasses, chocolate dipped raisins, toffee fudge, ripe rye barrel shining through. Full bodied, oily feel, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid kit and weighs in very well for 18.7% ... Bruery doing Bruery things! What's not to like?

Sample at the RB CBJ Bottleshare 27/11/2024 Woah, big whisky rye bourbon infused brew, intense on the nose and taste follows, lots of rich chocolate, medley of caramel and fudge like malty sweetness, full bodied, big rye whisky kick into the warming boozy finish. Glorious.

Bottle shared at CBJ - big thanks to the Osprey. Pours oily black-brown with a foamy, khaki topping. Medium to big sweet flavour with layered dark malts, rich dark fruits, lovely hearty barrel notes, bourbon, port, raisins, dark chocolate. Full bodied - and I mean full - with fine carbonation and oily gesture. Warming finish, toothy dark malts, chocolate-covered cherries, raisins, fudge, bourbon, booze, vanilla. Impressive stuff. Super punchy but not cloying or overbearing. A real sipper and a treat.
