Its impenetrable dark color is crowned by a creamy beige foam. A full-bodied beer, with an intense aroma and flavor of roasted malt, from which elegant notes of coffee and dark chocolate stand out.

Keg at Nortada, Porto, 28/10/22. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is dark malts, spice, mellow roast, chocolate. Taste comprises chocolate biscuit, raisins, toffee, roast malts, charr, spice. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Easy drinking but lacking depth of flavour for the boost level advertised.

Sharp roast and coffee. Black pour with ok head. Bitter ass finish. Lot a ton of flavour here but I still kind of like this no frills no nonsense style of impy stouts--getting rarer these days. Seems like flavours, perhaps recipe has varied a lot over recent years based on ratings. Bottle.

Bottle, Froiz supermarket, Porto. Pitch black, medium small beige foamy head, medium lasting. Malty nose, quite soy sauce like, slightly roasted. Medium full body, silky. Mild chocolate sweetness, medium bitterness. Some alcohol warmth, almost a bit burning. Roasty aftertaste.

Tap at Unorthodox. Malt centered, but not nearly enough deep roast for a RIS. Rather soft roast, cocoa, cappuccino. Only very light deep roast. Rather sweet, lacking bitterness. Good but not great.
