West Coast IPA, 14° Plato, 6.6% ABV. Nejen měkkosti, jemnosti a sladkosti je o Vánocích třeba, a tak jako kdykoli jindy, může člověka popadnout chuť na něco asertivnějšího, prokvašeného, hořkého a pitelného. K zahnání této tužby jsme uvařili naši vánoční IPA v západním stylu. Splňuje všechny předpoklady proto, aby člověku znavenému příliš dlouhým bezděčným ujídáním cukroví vlila novou krev do žil. Jednoduché tělo z ječných sladů. Mix chmelů Motueka, Simcoe, Idaho 7 a Columbus propůjčuje pivu aroma citrusů (mandarinka, limetka) a příznačné pryskyřice.

To banish that craving, we've brewed our West Coast-style Christmas IPA. It fulfills all the requirements to inject new blood into the veins of a person who is tired of mindlessly eating sweets. The mix of Motueka, Simcoe, Idaho 7, and Columbus hops gives the beer an aroma of citrus (tangerine, lime) and characteristic resin.

Nose is fruity and hoppy, sweetish, flavor is not so sweet, but still fruity and hoppy

Thin bod, med-high carbo. This beer, while well below its BBD, is still well past its prime, being a Christmas special. It just tastes old, with even a subtle sourish tang beginning to develop. Must have been good when fresh though. Why the BBD tho?

50cl can. Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Hoppy aroma with citrus, pine and pale malt. Moderate sweet with medium flavour intensity, hoppy flavours and decent bitterness. Quite enjoyable.

On tap at Sibeeria, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma has some piney hops, light dankness, and gentle melon. Flavour has tangy, citrusy hops upfront, light dankness, and a touch of pine. Finishes very citrusy. I don’t exactly get the Motueka, but the hop cohesion is pretty good. Solid westie.

Can. Dark brown, almost black color with thick, long lasting beige head. Aroma of chocolate, nuts, milk chocolate, alcohol is well hidden. Smooth. Nice.

500ml can. Minimally milky, yellow-ish, golden colour with average to huge, thick, dense, creamy, moderately to mostly lasting, moderately lacing, snow white head. Resinous, piney, slightly citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, minimally spicy, pale malty background, hints of pine, resin, a touch pine needles, lime, some salty cracker. Taste is slightly dry, resinous, piney and slightly citrusy fruity hoppy, slightly spicy, pale malty, notes of pine, resin, some spruce, a touch of pine needles, hints of salty cracker, lemon, lime. Oily-watery texture, smooth, simultaneously slightly dry palate, medium to fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation. Less forest-ish than Nepomucen's iconic brews, but equally intense and compelling - very good.

500ml Can - Golden with a slight haze and a white head. Pine, grapefruit and some herbal and spicy notes in the aroma. Hoppy and slightly zesty taste with grapefruit, pine, bubble gum, spruce, lemon and herbs.
