Very sweet malty with notes of caramel and jule spices, really jarring metallic notes throughout, vague dried fruit shred, lingering overt sweet spiced finish. Not enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours amber copper with a small creamy head. Nutty and fruity expression. Defenetly banana and some spices. Caramelly and bready. Soft and full bodied.

On tap. Opaque dark brown with a small beige head. Sweet licorice in the nose - perhaps a little vanilla too. Medium-bodied, sweet dark dried fruits. Again licorice accents, licorice rather than star aniseed. Appears spicy although none are added. Some dryish hop accents in the finish. 141210

Draft. A deep red beer with a lazing light tan head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, yeast, bread, and over ripe fruits, as well as a hint of the alcohol, leading to a lightly bitter finish.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown/deep amber with a small tan head. Aroma is rather fruity, caramel malt and yeasty spiced. Thick roasted malt flavoured, bitter, roasted and phenolic spiced and sharpness. Lasting fruity and slowly declining sweetness.
