Can to lager glass.
Appearance: pours dark brown but leaves more of black color in the glass then a three finger eggshell white foamy head that popped to dissipate and left some light lace
Aroma: sweet ash, some smoke, woody tones, caramel malts, coffee tones and coffee grounds, some earthy character
Flavor: sweet to smoky to woody and earthy with malty tones balancing it a bit more; mild aftertaste of wood smoke, sweet ash and coffee tones
Texture: light to medium bodied, some sessionability about it, nice smoothness on tongue; finishes smoky and woody
Overall: some things are good about this beer and some things are well, I guess I should say "odd." And maybe I'd have this again.

Pounder from that sweet bottle shop in Houston, you know the one. Put it to sleep in January & finally took it out of the fridge.
Pint glass at home. Thin & oily brown on black. Thin but lingering tan head.
Bittersweet chocolate & oily subtly herbal breakfast sausage nose.
Nice upfront roast, smoked tea, subtle sweetness, soft & lingering char.
Consistent carb, a little chewy, ashy, appropriate abv.
Solid.
