When challenged with crafting this ode to simple freedom, we settled on golden naked oats. Nude’s use of these oats creates a full-flavoured beer that’s distinctive in its orange hue, with a and a silky smooth, nutty character (no sniggering at the back) to the malt backbone – just right to carry the American hops which give Nude its distinctive flavour.

With Citra, Simcoe, Amarillo, Mosaic and Cascade used to great effect in dry hopping, Nude’s bitterness stays exceptionally sessionable whilst offering up a rich, citrus nose. Much like a naturist beach, it’s something that’s best experienced first-hand.

At 3.9% ABV, we think it’s the perfect way to embrace your inner nudist, but if you do stumble across Nude at your local Butcombe pub, do remember that clothing is entirely mandatory, at least until you get home!

Cask conditioned at the Robert Fitzharding (JDW), Bedminster, Bristol 21/8/17.Pale gold in colour, with a lacy, white, head. Light lemon and apricot fruit aroma, with a hint of citrus hop. Flavour had rich tea malts, more fruit and led to a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask at Le De Spencer’s Arms, Wycombe. Hazy deep gold with a thin? white head. Mild but pleasant tropical notes up front, then a hint of lemon before a light grassy bitterness to finish. Starts well but fades a bit. Not bad though, a pleasantly refreshing brew.
