Fort George knows stouts. We’ve made hundreds of stouts. We’ve tasted thousands of stouts. We’ve perfected dozens of stouts. But we’ve only canned a few stouts.

It’s dark on the North Coast - literally and also sometimes emotionally. We’ve learned to embrace this darkness. Fudge Sickles is a barrel-aged stout inspired by our undying love for the only thing we could afford off the ice cream truck back in the day. Conditioned on cocoa nibs, chocolate powder and vanilla beans - it’s a bottomless abyss of cold, creamy chocolate with a bite of rich barrel flavor.

On tap. Pours black with full tan head. Aromas of chocolate fudge. Flavors of extra creamy coffee, chocolate fudge and chocolate icing. Is this beer? OK, a fantastic creamy chocolate liqueur. I’d hate to know the residual sugars…

12oz can from Newport Avenue Market. Almost black pour, fine ring of beige head. Rich, chocolaty aroma, sweet. Taste is sweet, chocolate fudge, roasty notes floating around, but mostly a chocolate assault. Sugary sweet, so sweet that you barely notice the 13% ABV.

355mL can. Pours black with tan head. Aroma has tons of cocoa powder, vanilla, roasted malts. Flavour has a ton of cocoa and vanilla, roasted malts. Mouthfeel is very smooth and creamy with appropriate carbonation. Adjuncts are very well-incorporated into the base beer.

12 oz. can, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is dominated by the chocolate powder and cocoa nibs, some vanilla, and a touch of bourbon. Flavour is full of decadent vanilla beans, some bourbon notes, and plenty of chocolate. Huge vanilla and chocolate presence that's nicely accentuated by the barrels. Excellent.

Can. Pours a pitch black hue with a small beige head. A big sweet nose, lactose, rich chocolate. Big milky chocolate, vanilla, light roast. Quite sweet. No heat.
