We don’t make many dark beers but this has to be one of our favourites from recent times.
A deliciously simple but seriously satisfying porter focussed around brown malt for the flavour with a touch of black and crystal for support.

Can, 6.0%. Roasted aroma, some ashes and some liquorice. Black colour, seems hazy. Good stable creamy light brown head. The flavour is roasted with malty notes of dark bread. Has a little sweetness and creamy notes, but fairly dry with notes of raw liquorice. Salty finish. Good.

440ml can. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, nutty, caramel. The flavour is moderate sweet, light liquorice bitter, with a smooth, somewhat light, roasty, chocolate, sugary saccharine, light liquorice bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Black beer, thick and light tan head. Malty aroma. Flavour is all malt up front. Sweet, toasty, a little chocolatey. A little hop in the back but this is all about the malt and I'm here for it. Good body with a sweet, warming maltiness that's just all over the flavour and the finish. A simple but super drinkable porter.
