Inspired by historical English table beers meant for immediate home consumption. Luncheon Ale’s low alcohol content makes it the perfect mealtime companion.

Our version also takes its cues from modern table beers that use more flagrant hop additions. This particular interpretation uses Dr Beaven’s Plumage Archer barley variety which was bred in 1905 at our local maltings in Warminster and is now malted there.

As an organic, heritage malt it has the perfect flavour profile to allow the Ernest and Cascade hops, grown by Hukins Hops (Kent), to shine without stealing the show.

Can at home, from an online peddler I can't recall, 25/08/2025.
Almost clear golden yellow topped with a lasting white head.
Nose is grass, lemon rind, herb, straw, toasted malts.
Taste comprises citric tinged straw, grass, herb, biscuit, crackers, toasted malts, lemon nip, touch of minerality.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with light earthy hop bitterness.
Okay sessioner.

Can from 7000 Jars, Kingston. Lively. The thick foamy white head threatens to overspill. Hazy-opaque amber body. Aroma is hazy itself. Malts. Sawdust. Light resin. Restrained stone fruit. Medium-heavy bitter. Resinous. Peripheral tangy citrus and more of that restrained stone fruita'. Light. Thin. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Slips down. Dece SIPeh.

Pleasantly quaffable for 3.0% but probably wouldn't bother again

Keg draught at Joyce, Brockley Road, London. Light yellow, hazy with a frothy white head. Tart herbal and woody notes, Belgian yeast, lemon zest. Complex and frankly beautiful taste, drying, bittersweet, some umami with strong underpinnings of candy sugar. Have I just contradicted myself? Finishes with an almost medicinal bitterness, a light touch if honey. Very light body with heavy carbonation. Magical.
