This witbier is a bit twisted! We spiced it with super citrusy Indian coriander seeds and Amarillo hops late in the boil AND slightly soured it to highlight the pungent citrus character. A Belgian witbier yeast strain produced gentle fruitiness and phenolics to make it even more fragrant. This easy sipper is just perfect company for the rare hot summer days.

Draught@SOPP Helsinki 2024. Pale yellow colour with a small white head. Aroma is citrus, wheat, some mild coriander and a bit peachy tones. Flavour is coriander, citrus and some wheat with mild piney and some peachy tones with a quite big bitter bite too.

Bottle brought back from Oulu. Aroma has citrus and cloves with a hoppy streak. Hazy-opaque light gold. Thick fluffy foamy white head. Initial citrus hit with a chewy herbal element. Dry. Slightly metallic edge. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Big Wit. Like me. Interesting example of a style I normally find a tad dull.

(Keg at Juova, 20240719) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, orange peel, coriander and spiciness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, coriander, citrus fruits, orange peel, spiciness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity, spicy and mildly bitter. A tasty witbier with strong coriander seed flavours.
