Can at home from HOTM, 12th October 24. Pours a dark caramel and fairly clear beer. Aroma is caramel and malty, resinous pine. Taste is proper old skool, west coast, bitter and resinous, assertive caramel maltiness, long bitter and resinous finish. I like it, as it’s a change from the flood of NEIPAs

Can split at the farewell to Monica tasting, Watford, from HOTM online 20/09/24. Golden to light amber with a lasting just off white head. Nose is grass, pine needle, grapefruit, bitter orange, melon. Taste comprises soft malts, orange peel, grass, pine needle, hint of caramel, straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with grassy hop bitterness. Okay old skool leaning IPA.

20th September 2024
Bottleshare at Chez Frog. Can. Almost clear burnished gold beer, good cream colour head. Airy and fairly dry palate, decent fine minerally carbonation. Creamy sweet malts. Ripe citrus, a little peel. Light finish. West Coast stodge, encapsulates almost everything I don't like about this style, but at least no caramel malts. Also, never a big fan of Jester King, unfortunately this doesn't make me a convert.

Grass and cereal nose. Crystal clear amber, medium head. Slightly candied violet, grass. Medium body, easy carbonation. Fantastic balance, very well crafted. Poundable, something I've been missing from modern IPAs.
