For our first release we wanted to step away from any kind of crazy adjuncts and make a simple beer that is enjoyable in its own right. Living In Darkness is a Imperial Baltic Porter that blends 7 malts with dark brown sugar which creates a deep roasty smooth beer.

This recipe is one that we have been working on for some time and we are really happy with the results so what better way to introduce ourselves to the world but with this imperial beer.

Expect a deep malt backbone with a slight sweet after taste that sits sticky on the lips and drinks rather easily for its strength.

Bottle split at the farewell to Monica tasting, Watford, thanks to the Bearded Avenger 20/09/24. Black with a khaki head that thins to the edge. Nose is stewed fruits, chocolate, spice, toffee, roast malts, hint of liquorice. Taste comprises cocoa powder, brown bread, cardboard, stewed fruits, brown bread, toffee. Full bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a touch of alcohol. For a drink by 2033 beer ... this one is already a busted flush for me! Feels old and lacks depth.

Bottle ordered from Kay Gees. Aroma starts off fruity before developing. Amts and booze. Opaque dark brown. Foamy beige head attempts to escape the bottle but calms down by the time it reaches the glass. Medium to heavy bitter. Booze. Flat. Charcoal. Dull malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Sticky. Average prickly carbonation. Long astringent finish. Punchy but bland.

Brown collar on a still black body. Liquorice, malt, raisin, boozy & demerara aroma. Full bodied, super smooth (like baby oil) body with a clean back. Liquorice, raisin, tangy red wine, malt & berry tastes with a big boozy finish. That's Class.
